This concert features 4 pieces that could not be more different from each other: a film score written by Johnny Greenwood (a member of the rock band Radiohead), a score by Indian-American composer Reena Esmail that draws stylistically upon the North Indian Hindustani classical tradition, a moving elegy by Quinn Mason who is an up and coming black composer from Texas, and a treasured classic from Stravinsky. The message of the concert is a celebration of eclecticism, diversity, stylistic variety, and the ability of each piece to affect our perception of the others.
