
Violinist, Natalie Boberg, is a versatile soloist, chamber, and orchestral musician. Her playing has been noted by Vijay Gupta of Street Symphony and the LA Philharmonic as, “beautifully personal, with instincts that are so on.” Natalie made her debut as a soloist with the Utah Symphony in 2018, performing Mark O’Connor’s Double Violin Concerto under Maestro Connor Covington. Natalie has also appeared as a soloist with the Colburn Chamber Orchestra alongside Anne Akiko Meyers, Lake Avenue Chamber Orchestra, and Gifted Music School Chamber Orchestra. In national chamber music competitions, Natalie placed second at University of Michigan’s MPrize Competition, and medaled bronze at Pasadena Conservatory of Music’s national competition. Her summer endeavors include time spent at the Music Academy of the West, Domaine Forget, Aspen Music Festival and School, Meadowmount School of Music, Boston University Tanglewood Institute, and Interlochen Center for the Arts.
Natalie’s breadth of experience in the arts also includes training in conducting, singing, visual arts, and dance. She studied conducting under Maxim Eshkenazy at the Colburn School and Bill Drury at New England Conservatory. She performed for nine years in the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus Bel Canto choirs under the esteemed baton of Anne Tomlinson. Engagements with the Chorus included performances at Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl with Gustavo Dudamel, John Williams, James Conlon, and Rafael Burgos. She also trained at San Marino Dance Academy for 10 years and studied classical drawing/painting at Mission Renaissance Fine Art Studio.
Natalie’s mission is to share engaging musical experiences and the art of the violin with the world. She is particularly excited about contemporary music and collaborating with living composers and artists on new music projects. As a violinist, vocalist, dancer, and visual artist, she envisions unique programming that has wide-appeal and captures a new generation of classical music lovers. She is the CEO and Co-Founder of the Magari Ensemble, a 501©(3) nonprofit organization that presents interdisciplinary and purpose driven events across the country. She also leads the ensemble’s Subject to Change Initiative, a branch of the organization committed to commissioning, performing, recording, and publishing new works by women and gender-minority composers. Alongside her work on the stage, Natalie is committed to educating young musicians and has held faculty positions at New England Conservatory of Music’s Preparatory School and Boston Music Project. Natalie is committed to nurturing the growth of new artists and aims to make classical music more accessible by creating inclusive, memorable experiences for all.
